Cinnamon Buns!
I haven't had the American type (maybe I'm missing out but Australia doesn't seem to be advertising any) but this is an adapted recipe, and its pretty darn tasty.
Recipe to follow.
What you'll need.
Ingredients:
For Dough:
2 cups plain flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
125g butter, softened and cut up
3/4 to 1 cup of milk*
For Filling:
Butter
Brown sugar
Cinnamon
Sultanas or any dried fruit and nuts you fancy
Preparation:
1. Mix together dry ingredients.
2. Add butter and rub between your fingers until it is cut into the flour.
3. Add milk until the dough is a bit sticky.
4. Put dough on a floured surface and roll out, you want a rectangular sort of shape.
5. Sprinkle filling on dough - butter, then sugar, then cinnamon and sultanas.
6. Roll up and slice into rolls **
7. Bake at 180*C for about 25mins or until browned at edges.
8. Enjoy with milk or your morning coffee!
*I used about 3/4 cup
**Use a serrated (bread) knife is best for this so you don't squash the dough
